Who We Are
We are a fellowship of apprentices to Jesus, seeking to love our Triune God supremely and our real life neighbors sacrificially.
Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart
and with all your soul
and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.
And the second is like it:
‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
Matthew 22:38-39
Our Mission
Our mission is to create a community in which the way of Jesus of Nazareth is loved, learned, and lived.
Then Jesus came to them and said,
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
And surely I am with you always,
to the very end of the age.”
Matthew 28:19-20
Our four dimensions of discipleship provide simple ways to connect with others in the pursuit of our mission to create a community in which the way of Jesus of Nazareth is loved, learned, and lived.
WORSHIP
In worship, our goal is to restore loving relationships with God. Before Jesus did anything else, he spent time in union with the Father.
That’s why our Sunday worship gathering is the foundational part of connecting with Calvary. This is the time committed to cultivate deep communion with God through the liturgy, preaching, fellowship, and the Lord’s Table. We also want to help you foster spiritual disciplines that enrich your devotional life Monday-Saturday.
FORMATION
Once Jesus gathered a community, he went to work on each individual. Jesus restores our inward being, freeing us from things that hold us back from experiencing wholeness.
That’s why we provide regular opportunities for personal development such as Enneagram Workshops, Marriage Conferences, and spiritual direction. We want you to be the healthiest version of yourself: emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and physically.
COMMUNITY
Jesus’ worship of the Father compelled him to form a community shaped around his worship; he called disciples to share his life with. This community made up the bulk of Jesus’ life and ministry as they learned to love one another like family.
We want to connect people to Community Groups and/or Bible study groups (Groups). Groups are the front door for belonging at Calvary. In community groups you’ll eat together, pray together, learn together, and serve together. In our Sunday morning Bible study groups, you’ll spend time in prayer and study together. Our prayer is that these groups will be a space that fosters spiritual friendships.
MISSION
While Jesus is working to restore our souls, he’s also sending us out to restore the world as he did. Jesus calls us to love our neighbors, care for the poor, and seek the good of our city.
That’s why we invite everyone to embrace a missional mindset and habits along with joining a CG that’s mobilized for mission. We believe everyone is sent and gifted to make disciples and that they should join a community of missionaries that encourage each other in their mission.

Our Beliefs
We believe that good theology should lead us to love God and other people.
We are committed to a broad, rich orthodoxy that seeks to learn from various Christian traditions.
We are members of the Harbor Network, which you can read about here.
We are also denominationally Baptist, and you can find our core convictions here.
Rule of Life
We pursue our vision and mission through nine spiritual practices: sabbath, prayer, fasting, solitude, scripture, community, witness, service, and generosity, which is rooted in the Great Creed:
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly
and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8
